Jumpstart with Bill & Terry
Terry co-hosts Jumpstart with her husband Bill each weekday morning from 7–9am, sharing the music you love, the info you need, and real conversations about life. She also helps keep WAFT running strong, overseeing the station’s day-to-day operations.
I’m just a normal person! But a few fun highlights in my life include– climbing a volcano, camping in Switzerland, chased by a baby shark in Bermuda, mission trips, eating near Phyllis Diller (the closest to any celebrity), and visiting 10 countries.
It’s a full circle! I was born here in Valdosta. My dad was in the military and we moved quite a bit from state to state. The most exciting place we lived was Naples, Italy. To this day, memories of people stomping grapes in big vats, fresh baked bread, fire stone pizzas, ruins and a volcano bring many memories to mind. When I was in 10th grade we returned to Valdosta where my dad retired from the military, and I’ve been here ever since.
I met Bill at Lowndes High School (math class to be exact). We both attended Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, Al. We were married in 1982 and he is the greatest blessing God has given to me (and the love of my life). We have 4 kids (all married) and 10 grandkids.
We live on the station grounds in a Quonset hut that Bill built. When you come to see us, there are usually chickens, guineas, ducks, and dogs running around. We love living out here and consider it a privilege to be part of this ministry – with the purpose of broadcasting the Good News, Jesus Saves and strengthening the saints.
In a nutshell: I love gardenias, jasmine and fresh cut grass; I cook (not bake!) and I never follow a recipe when cooking (although I really try); I’m a loner and love being home. In all, I can only say God has blessed me far more than I deserve.
