Lisa Griffin
Administrative Assistant
Key West On-air Host
At WAFT, Lisa manages projects and provides support to the office manager. Beyond the office, she hosts morning programming for our station in Key West, WKWJ. A Midwesterner by birth, my family moved to Tampa when I was 12. I have only been a “Southerner" since 2018 when I moved to Valdosta, GA for a teaching job. My husband, Steve, and I have one adult son, who still lives in Florida. I’ve had a long career as a licensed optician and teacher.
Moving to Georgia was a big change, but discovering WAFT 101.1 made it easier. In 2020, I started volunteering at the station, eventually hosting on Hope 91.9 in Key West. I have officially joined the talented team here at WAFT/WKWJ full time - becoming a part of a group of people committed to a ministry that serves the community through the love of Jesus.
My hobbies include sewing, but only if my projects are easy squares or rectangles. My greatest claim to fame is catching snakes that threaten my backyard birds - I am known by friends as the “snake wrangler”. I am strictly catch-and-release and I have been spotted releasing my “charges” on Sunday mornings on the way to church.
I love the time I spend on the WAFT hill supporting the ministry, and I’ve found that life has become richer and more exciting as I’ve embraced God’s plan.
